COURSE AWARD: Supervising Safety in the Workplace - OSS Certificate of Attendance
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
To enable course participants to be able to:
- Have a forum to discuss their main areas of interest with respect to health and safety in their workplace.
- Become familiar with the applicable and relevant health and safety legislation to their workplace (SHWWAct 2005 , General Application Regs, Construction Regulations 2103)
- Understand the importance and role of their organizations Safety Statement, risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Understand the methods of contractor control.
- Understand methods for monitoring safety, health and welfare at work.
- Complete assessments of the work area and activities to identify new hazards and risks
- Review equipment, work environment and personnel to identify possible health and safety improvements, problem areas or training requirements.
- Review emergency procedures and emergency arrangements.
- Review accidents, incidents and near misses at work
- Report and feedback relevant information at safety consultation meetings
